RENT
(i) In respect of premises not owned by the school authorities the expenditure may include the rent and rates actually paid, subject to the approvel of the Director of Education after consulation with the Government Assessor.
(ii) Any Crown Rent or Land Rent paid for Grant School purposes may also be included in annual recurrent expendi- ture with the approval of the Director of Education.

LOANS &
INTEREST
Interest on loans incurred in the educational interest of the Colony may with the approval of the Director of Education be included in approved expenditure provided that the rate of interest is approved by the Treasury; or in special cases interest free loans may be granted for approved purposes by Government. Government will not, however, normally approve the charging to approved annual expenditure of interest on loans raised to defray the school's contribution of half the cost of new buildings, of major repairs, or of new furniture and equip- ment, nor wi 11 Government normally make interest free loans for such a purpose.

OTHER CHARGES

The expenditure on Other Charges shall be estimated at the same rates as normally allowed for Other Charges in similar Government Schools, and shall be approved in advance by the Director of Education. Approved expenditure on Minor Repairs of Buildings and Equipment, Water Rates, and Auditors' Fees, may be included in Other Charges.
33.
If any Grant School Managers decide to insure their school premises against fire, half the premium paid on the full value of the Grant School property may be approved in annual recurrent expenditure under "Other Charges".

SCHOOL
FEES
All fees shall be paid monthly in advance unless otherwise approved by the Director of Education, and all arrears due shall be paid before a student is allowed, to continue in
attendance.
35.
Principals shall notify the Director of Education of all foes and subscriptions charged in their schools in accordance . with Part VA of the Regulations made under the Education
Ordinance.
36.
The ordinary school tuition fees to be charged in each school shall be determined by the school managers, but they may not be less than those charged for similar classes in Govern- ment schools. For the purpose of assessing the grant, not more
